History

In 1991, a group of Christians in Orillia were concerned to establish a church based on Scripture.  They desired to have a congregation where the focus would be on God:  worshipping God according to his Word; recognizing the authority of God’s Word in every area of church life, as well as family and personal life.

They sought the help of Trinity Baptist Church in Montville, New Jersey, in order to begin a Reformed Baptist Church in Orillia.  Under the supervision of their pastors, a congregation was constituted.  This young assembly committed themselves to follow Jesus Christ and be obedient to his Word.  They took as their official statement of faith, the London Baptist Confession of 1689.  They also adopted a church covenant and constitution which had for its purpose the organization of the church in such a way that the Lord Jesus would be recognized as King.

Since those early days, the church has met in various rented facilities, not yet being able to build on the land which they own.  Yet the original purpose remains the same:  to gather to worship God; to instruct God’s people in the way of truth and righteousness; and to proclaim the glorious good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.
